The prevalence of overweight and obesity has increased over the past several years. In Oklahoma, 61% of the population is considered overweight with over 25% of these classified as obese. At OKlahoma WEIGHT LOSS OPtions, we are proud to now offer a non-surgical option to aid in your weight loss efforts – and to halt the rise of overweight & obesity.

BALANCE has been designed to teach you the skills needed for long term weight management. You will not be placed on a diet, given special foods to eat, or rely on prescription medication. You will learn the skills necessary to lose weight and maintain weight loss while living in the “real world.”

BALANCE is designed to emphasize three major areas:

  1. Nutrition Education
  2. Behavior Modification
  3. Physical Activity

How is BALANCE structured?

  • One-on-one consultation with a registered dietitian
  • Weekly group meetings with a focus on nutrition, behavior modification, and physical activity
  • Long term follow-up consultations to monitor progress and compliance

Who qualifies for BALANCE?

  • Minimum 20 pounds of excess weight
  • Clear for physical activity by Primary Care Provider
  • No history of eating disorder Personal desire to become healthier
  • Not pregnant
  • Age 18 or older

Who benefits from BALANCE?

  • Anybody who is overweight or has weight related health problems
  • Anybody with a BMI > 30
  • Anybody considering weight loss-surgery
  • Post weight-loss surgery patients who are having difficulty maintaining weight loss

Every person who enrolls in BALANCE will have an initial consultation with a registered dietitian. You will then choose a group time that will best accommodate your schedule. Groups are limited to 10 participants, and will meet weekly for 12 weeks. With each session you attend, you will acquire new skills to help you reach and maintain your weight loss goals. In order to achieve the best results plan on attending all 12 sessions.
